Open Question: Ganja Queen and the film Broken Down Palace?
I was just watching a Documentary on HBO about an Australian girl who went on vacation to Indonesia and was framed as a drug smuggler bringing Marijuana into the country, she says it wasn’t her but she was given a life sentence, then reduced to a 20 yr sentence. Is this the True Life story from which the movie Broken down Palace came from?
Bali Modern: The Art of Tropical Living
This book documents the transformation that Balinese architecture and interior design have undergone over the past five years. Cleaner lines, more imaginative use of space, A-frame roofs, and the use of stone, concrete, and ceramic roof tiles are increasingly visible along with the traditional coconut wood, teak, and thatching.

Resolved Question: B. Hussein Obama - JFK?
As we all know, Obama’s middle name is Hussein and he spent a good deal of his childhood in Indonesia. Please answer my question seriously, I want to know what people think, not bla bla stupid partisan crap… If JFK’s middle name were Hitler and he spent a good portion of his upbringing in Austria, would he have had ANY chance of becoming president?
Come, reza, ama / Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia
At the age of thirty-one, Gilbert moved with her husband to the suburbs of New York and began trying to get pregnant, only to realize that she wanted neither a child nor a husband. Three years later, after a protracted divorce, she embarked on a yearlong trip of recovery, with three main stops: Rome, for pleasure (mostly gustatory, with a special emphasis on gelato); an ashram outside of Mumbai, for spiritual searching; and Bali, for “balancing.” These destinations are all on the beaten track, but Gilbert’s exuberance and her self-deprecating humor enliven the proceedings: recalling the first time she attempted to speak directly to God, she says, “It was all I could do to stop myself from saying, ‘I’ve always been a big fan of your work.’” The New Yorker© Gilbert s prose is fueled by a mix of intelligence, wit and colloquial exuberance that is close to irresistible. -The New York Times Book Review A meditation on love in its many forms love of food, language, humanity, God, and most meaningful for Gilbert, love of self.
