http://www.amconmag.com/2008/2008_03_10/cover.html Isn’t it because the current US administration has re-directed several percentile of production to wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in lieu of providing it to the consumer markets. General Petraeus has to pay an exorbidant premium for fuel. Speculation, because of the created gap between supply and demand was the first shock, the second shock was triggered by inflexible, binding contracts that made the military responsible for purchasing fuel at the highest (market) rates from distributors, while preventing the military from pursuing new contracts from alternate sources. Now, the third shock is being exacerbated by doubling per capita consumption by US military forces since 2006. These contracts have hamstringed the military, trebled the cost of actions in Iraq and has left the entire world scrambling to cure a non-existent 2% defecit. It is completely understandable why Kuwait, Saudi Arabia&Iraq do not want to raise production.

Open Question: US Air FORCE Deployment?
Does anybody know where the air force would currently be getting deployed to right now? Are they mostly going to the middle east? (Kuwait, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghan) Any other countries where they are actively involved in the war? Or is it mostly just the army/marines engaging in Iraq/Afghan?

When I was deployed to Kuwait in 1997 and 2001, I fell in love with a leaf cigarette. All it was was a leaf that was rolled up real tight, and they came in bundles of like 30 (a white wrapper). My questions are: does anyone know what I’m talking about and if so, can I get them here?

I am about to ETS from the army while im in Kuwait next year doing a security mission at KBR. Since I will be getting out, I was curious about getting one of these high paying security contract jobs that everyone is talking about. I would also be interested in a business or management position if at all possible since this is what my degree is in.I know dyncorp, KNB, Triple Canopy offers jobs but I need to know how go about getting one. My primary mos is 13b, but my secondary mos is mp(31b) and I have no problems working overseas, although I prefer Kuwait and Qatar for obvious reasons. Im 29 years old, I have a secret clearance, a bachelors of science in marketing (currently working on a mba), and no ties (wife, children, etc.). If any recruiters see this, or anyone has any information that could help me that would be great. I just need to be pointed in the right direction.
